Overview
Like many Canadians, I have to fill out countless forms and recall from memory my entire health history when I visit another health provider. I have to recall the names of Medicines which I don't remember, when I'm sitting at the doctors office with fever and headache.
We learned our customer's biggest pain point, and this is what our customer says: "It's so difficult to get hold of medical records when we need it and visit different doctors because I had to visit urgent care and I did not remember the name of the antibiotic I was allergic to, I want a platform that will make it easier to access my health records."
"It will be great if we can forward our x-rays directly to the physician"
Therefore, we built this MVP to help overcome keeping the customers pain points in mind
Challenges
•Existing solutions are not patient focused, and focus on healthcare providers.
•Many Canadians and Americans do not have easy access to health records from all health providers in a central location.
•Difficult to Share Information between patients & different healthcare providers.
People need not just their records but their families health and dental records information too.
Patients don't recall complicated names of medicines when they get asked certain questions from providers
Research
We wanted to know if other people faced similar challenges when accessing different health providers.
We interviewed and surveyed 29 people from different provinces and conducted 5 interviews with patients and health providers.
And what we found was:
•79% of respondents have not seen their health records and 93% of them would want to see their records.
•85% of respondents keep track of health records by memory or paper filing.
•100% of respondents have never used a product or service to keep track of health records.

Based on the research, we created a persona, Carla- who has a hard time keeping track of health records with multiple providers. And Carla is one of the 44% of Canadians who sees more than 3 health providers.

Ideation
The solution is helpful, which would allow patients to access their health records from all of their health providers, and securely share that information. The health wallet will be able to integrate and interface with the existing provincial health systems, as well as private health systems in different clinics, using an API that would be compliant with the Canadian privacy laws. So for first launch, we're focusing on the Alberta consumer and what their needs are, when it comes to accessing their health information. So we're happy to present our health wallet MVP. So, using this MVP patients will be able to tailor the app to their health needs, They will be able to view their health history from each provider, and they will be able to choose what health information they want to share with their provider
Prototype and MVP
We came up with a solution to customer painpoints that is Health Wallet MVP,
•Patients will be able to tailor the app to their health needs
•View their health history for each provider
•Patients can choose what health information they want to share
•This generates a QR code for each provider
•Provider will enter a code to access that patient’s record
Users would pay a small monthly fee for easy access and sharing.
